Support Your Followers, Even if it Impacts You.

I recently had a video job interview. My boss allowed me to use her office because it’s quieter than mine.

She is concerned that she is going to be losing staff because the agency will be expanding programs and her staff may be moving on to new challenges.

Despite this concern, she left a note for me that said, “Good luck! You’ve got this. :)”

I have worked for organizations where managers actively interfered with promotional opportunities for their staff because of the impact it would have on them.

Here was a manager encouragement to one of her staff, despite the negative impact it could have on her. That meant so much to me, that I held on to that note.
